Coastal systems are increasingly vulnerable to flooding due to the combined influence of coastal storms, development and population growth, geomorphic change, and sea level rise. Many factors, most of them well-known, play a role: CO2 production is too high, population density in coastal areas is increasing and vulnerable areas are increasingly developed.
